Supporting Climate Resilience and Disaster Risk Management

Climate ChangeDisaster Risk Management
A solar-powered water pumping system in rural Somalia

Climate change and disaster risk are among the most pressing challenges facing communities and institutions across Somalia. IMPACTSOM's Climate Change, Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management service covers climate vulnerability assessments, disaster risk management, and resilience-building for institutions and communities.

In Wanlaweyne district, IMPACTSOM delivered Disaster Risk Management (DRM) capacity-building for Wardi Relief Organization, working directly with a local partner to strengthen preparedness at the community level.

This work supports one of IMPACTSOM's core strategic objectives: to support climate resilience, disaster preparedness, environmental protection, and sustainable natural-resource management.
